I finally figured it out.
My workout routine was sporadic at best and I was frustrated.
Even when I did work out, I was discouraged by my lack of progress. I kept wishing I would lose. Lose stress, lose weight, lose pain…lose my imperfections.
It felt like I was fighting an unsustainable uphill battle and it weighed heavily on me.
So I decided to pause, look at my life, and crack the code. My code.
I asked myself, “What is it that I gain when I work out that is my driving force?”
Three things came up for me: strength, flexibility, and health. Why? Because these give me the ability to continue to do the things I want to do in life.
The shift from focusing on what I was trying to lose to focusing on what I would gain catapulted me into a daily routine of running and yoga.
Now, instead of waiting until I lose my imperfections to feel successful, I feel success with every workout because with every workout I gain strength, flexibility, and health.
